Safe boating outline (2014)

To reach as many waterway users as possible to inform them about safe behaviour and raise safety awareness and their own contribution, volunteers are invaluable. All volunteers need training and support from national non-profit organizations. But above all, to recruit and connect volunteers stakeholders should make them relevant and important. Volunteers are offered positive benefits of their job in return, such as

  • enhancing their present skills and broadening their work experience
  • volunteer work and being a member of the team keeping them fit, active and motivated
  • gaining more experience: good for their CV and career possibilities
  • appreciation for their work.
